Who are Apollo Business Finance?

Apollo Business Finance is an independent invoice finance lender based in Manchester, UK. They specialise in invoice factoring – a type of business funding which removes the 30+ day wait for invoice payments and allows their clients to receive same-day payments on all their invoices.

Apollo Business Finance has a unique position in the market. Unlike traditional lenders, they specialise in funding businesses that would be overlooked by banks – offering funding to sole traders, businesses with adverse credit history, CCJs, or past liquidations.

Their approach is personal, flexible, and fast. They ensure clients who would traditionally struggle to find funding, find the support their need to grow sustainably.

My Role and Responsibilities

I was originally brought into Apollo Business Finance as a full-stack Marketing Manager.

As they had no previous marketer, it was a blank slate for me to create my own role and strategy, and execute with the support of the directors.

In 2024, I took on the role of Group Marketing Manager, taking on the head of marketing for both Apollo Business Finance and their sister company Team Factors. 

LinkedIn & Social Media Management

I managed Apollo Business Finance’s LinkedIn presence and broader social media strategy, focusing on brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.

Given Apollo’s niche audience of SMEs and business owners, LinkedIn was the primary platform for reaching key decision-makers in industries reliant on invoice finance, such as recruitment, transport, and construction.

  • Developed a structured content plan covering industry insights, case studies, client success stories, and financial advice tailored to SMEs.
  • Balanced promotional content with educational and thought leadership posts to build credibility and trust.
  • Worked with the Sales Director, John Day, to craft engaging LinkedIn posts that showcased Apollo’s expertise while maintaining an approachable, helpful tone.
  • Increased Apollo’s LinkedIn following and post engagement through strategic content and regular interaction with industry professionals.
  • Implemented targeted LinkedIn outreach strategies to connect with introducers, brokers, and potential clients.
  • Leveraged LinkedIn’s organic and paid options to put Apollo in front of the right audience, generating leads without relying on a large ad spend.
  • Analysed engagement metrics to refine content strategy, identifying what resonated most with Apollo’s audience.

Email Marketing Management

I organised Apollo's email marketing efforts to nurture leads, retain customers, and drive revenue growth. I designed and executed targeted email campaigns and optimised email content for maximum impact. I also used automation and workflows to maximise lead magnet impact.

Content Marketing Management

I led the creation and distribution of informative content that resonated with Apollo's target audience. My focus was on building brand authority, driving organic traffic, and nurturing leads through high-quality content.

Digital Marketing Strategy

I was trusted with the task of creating and organising Apollo's overarching digital marketing strategy. This strategy was the foundations of all other marketing initiatives, and encompassed a wide array of channels and tactics. My goal was to create a comprehensive plan that would drive measurable results across all channels.

Partnership Strategy

I developed and actioned partnership strategies to form mutually beneficial relationships with partners. This involved identifying potential partners and creating those relationships to drive business growth. Through this we expanded our market reach, enhanced our offerings, and unlocked new revenue streams.

What I achieved

Social Media

Completely overhaul Apollo's social media content strategy. Resulting in a 469% increase in followers and a 20% increase in engagement rate on their page.

SEO Optimisation

Conducted multiple SEO initiatives to boost Apollo's average ranking by a 147% increase as well as a 306% increase in click-through rate.

Lead Generation

Generated over 138 leads in the first 12 months. Implemented lead-magnets, workflows and other tactics.

Website Redesign

Redesigned and re-optimised Apollo's website. Resulting in a 52% increase in website sessions. 9.3% reduction in bounce rate and a 88% increase in session duration.

Copywriting

Written over 20+ new articles for Apollo covering a wide variety of topics in their industry. As well as re-written all content on their website.
